A Beat Happening is proud to present a beatmaker showcase as part of My People's Market on Friday, November 9, 2018.

Featuring ABH alumni:
OMARI JAZZ
Omari Jazz is an electronic artist who weaves sentient poly-rhythmic chaos and contemplative ambiance to create a vivid Afro-futuristic hallucination. He creates his own beats from an amalgamation of samples and live manipulation with drum machines and audio effects, to take his listeners on a trip around the sonic universe of experimental jazz, hip hop, funk and electronica.

AUVIE SINCLAIR
Auvie Sinclair is a Portland, OR via Everett, WA based artist focused on providing a positive yet simplistic message through music. Although concise, the most recent project "8:31" explores a journey through contemplation, uncertainty, and acceptance; serving as a friendly reminder to accept who you are and to always move forward.

Hosted by Luvjonez and Sembla

A Beat Happening is a Portland-based, free, monthly, all ages, producer showcase hosted at Future Shock records. We host our monthly shows, and promote videos of each show on our YouTube channel. We also launched the official A Beat Happening record label and are planning our first series of releases by local PDX artists.

Our intention for the event is to create a communal space dedicated to the growth of the Portland left-field beat, hip-hop, and DJ scene.

We are completely not-for-profit and volunteer run, dedicated to D.I.Y. principles and ideals. We are also dedicated to making our events a safe space for young people, women, and LGBTQIA, so please get with us if we should do better, and especially get with us if you are a young person, woman, and/or LGBTQIA who makes beats and/or DJs.
